Gazoduq Project – Public Comments Invited

October 22, 2019

The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) is inviting the public and Indigenous peoples to review the summary of the initial project description for the Gazoduq Project, an approximately 780 kilometers long natural gas pipeline between northeastern Ontario and Saguenay, Quebec. Feedback related to the proposed project must be submitted to the Agency by November 22, 2019. Comments received will support the Agency in preparing a summary of issues. Once completed, the Agency will provide the summary of issues to Gazoduq Inc. to address in a subsequent detailed project description.

The proposed project is a designated project under the Agency’s Physical Activities Regulations and would be regulated by the CER. The integrated impact assessment for this project is a single assessment that will be conducted through a review panel process. The integrated assessment would meet the requirements of both the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act.

The CER will work in collaboration with the Agency throughout the integrated assessment process. The public and Indigenous peoples will be provided with additional opportunities to comment over the course of the process.

For more information on the project, the review process, and to submit comments, visit the Agency's website.
