Changes to CER Online Event Reporting Guidelines

The CER has committed to updating its Online Event Reporting Guidelines (the Guidelines) from time to time to provide greater clarity regarding the CER’s expectations and requirements with respect to event reporting under the relevant legislation and regulations. These guidelines contain definitions and guidance for the online reporting of events such as incidents, operations and maintenance notifications, and other similar regulatory reporting requirements. In September 2020, the CER requested feedback from companies on the 2020 Revised Event Reporting Guidelines (2020 Revised Guidelines).

The CER appreciated the feedback which resulted in changes and better quality guidance. The majority of the feedback resulted in changes to either the Guidelines or other CER documentation. Please see the attached Concordance Table for a full breakdown of the feedback and how it was addressed.

Attached is a final copy of the 2020 Revised Guidelines. The CER directs companies to follow the 2020 Revised Guidelines as of 20 November 2020. The CER Online Event Reporting System (OERS) will be updated to reflect the 2020 Revised Guidelines as of the same date.
