The Board administers a Participant Funding Program (PFP), which provides financial assistance to individuals, Indigenous groups, landowners, and non-industry not-for-profit groups to facilitate public participation in certain project hearings and environmental assessments of designated projects.
On 24 August 2017, the Board issued Hearing Order GHW-001-2017 establishing a hearing and granting the Algonquins of Ontario (AOO) predetermined standing as an Intervenor. The funding opportunity for the Iroquois, Ottawa and Richmond Meter Stations Hearing was announced on 29 August 2017 with a funding envelope of $80,000. The PFP recommended awarding $80,000 to AOO. The Executive Vice President, Regulatory approved the recommendation.
