The Board administers a Participant Funding Program (PFP), which provides financial assistance to individuals, Indigenous groups, landowners, and non-industry not-for-profit groups to facilitate public participation in certain project hearings and environmental assessments of designated projects.
The funding opportunity for the Trans Mountain Expansion Chilliwack BC Hydro Route Realignment Hearing was announced on 31 August 2017 with a funding envelope of $100,000. The PFP received one application requesting $79,993. After reviewing the application, the PFP recommended awarding the amount requested. The Executive Vice President, Regulatory approved the recommendation.
