The Board administers a Participant Funding Program (PFP), which provides financial assistance to individuals, Indigenous groups, landowners, and non-industry not-for-profit groups to facilitate public participation in certain project hearings and environmental assessments of designated projects.
The funding opportunity for the Wyndwood Hearing was announced on 15 December 2016 with a funding envelope of $250,000. The PFP received eight applications requesting a total of $350,880. After reviewing the applications, the PFP recommended awarding to all eight. The Executive Vice President, Regulatory approved the recommendation and the total funding allocated to the hearing was increased to $308,008.
