Canadian Energy Regulator Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations – Authorizations and Canadian Energy Regulator Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations – Obligations of Pipeline Companies
The Canadian Energy Regulator Act (CER Act) came into force on 28 August 2019 and replaced the National Energy Board Act (NEB Act).
Preventing damage to pipelines is a shared responsibility. Pipeline companies are required to ensure that people know how to safely conduct activities near pipelines, and people planning activities near pipelines are required to Call or Click Before They Dig. These activities are governed by the Canadian Energy Regulator Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations – Authorizations and Canadian Energy Regulator Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations – Obligations of Pipeline Companies.

Regulations Amending the National Energy Board Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations – Authorizations (Miscellaneous Program) (SOR/2019-349) and the Regulatory Impact Analysis Statement were published in the Canada Gazette, Part II on 11 December 2019, Vol. 153, No. 25, pages 6457-6461.
These regulations came into force on 16 March 2020, the same day the Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Made Under the National Energy Board Act (Miscellaneous Program) came into force.

These regulations came into force on 16 March 2020.
