Inspection Officer Order JB-001-2024 replaced with updated order

We are updating Inspection Officer Order (IOO) JB-001-2024 with IOO VAR-JB-001-2024. The updated IOO will allow NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) to temporarily increase the operating pressure by five per cent in one section of the Grande Prairie Mainline.

The modified pressure restriction will allow NGTL to do In-Line Inspection (ILI) runs. The ILI will provide the necessary information for our engineers to reassess the Grande Prairie Mainline. Once the ILI runs are completed, the pipeline will return to the restricted operating pressure in the initial IOO. Work must be completed by June 30, 2024. The original IOO will remain in place until NGTL demonstrates that the Grande Prairie Mainline is safe to operate at a pressure above the restricted operating pressure.

We will continue to follow up with the company to ensure it complies with the IOO.
