1. Why did the organizational priorities change?
These organizational priorities reflect a new 3 year “strategic” period. Every year the NEB reviews the organizational priorities to determine whether they are still relevant, or if they need to be updated or changed. New organizational priorities were identified during the 2014-15 strategic planning review. These priorities reflect the reporting cycle from 2015/16-2017/18.
2. What happened to the organizational priorities from last year[1]?
Last year’s priorities have been acted upon and are now streamlined into daily operations. There will be a final status report to Parliament on the 2014-15 priorities in the 2014-15 Departmental Performance Report, which will be tabled in fall of 2015.
3. How is the priority to Take Action on Safety different from Continuous Improvement on Safety and Environmental Outcomes?
The title for this priority has changed to reflect the next phase of focus for this important organizational priority. It signals that we are focusing on further development and refinement of activities, to deliver on safety and environmental outcomes.
[1] 2014-15 organizational priorities were: Continuous improvement of safety and environmental outcomes, a robust regulatory framework for the North, and a flexible and efficient organization able to meet new and ongoing priorities.
